I *heart* birds... Oh how I wish I had a fast prime anywhere from 300-600mm *sniff*... This took a medium crop to get.

:whisper: check it, you can see another lorikeet inside the tree!

Jezza :juggle:

PS just an old shot to break the posting drought

Hello! I was wondering if you would give your permission for this sweet lorikeet photo of yours to be placed in a poll to be voted on as a reference to be used in a contest. Thank you so much for your time and looking forward to your reply. Thanks again :)

Ohh! You love birds as well :D :D :D
Well done on making a rainbow lorikeet beautiful! They can be such noisy things!

My favourites are crimson rosellas. You should photo them with your skills :)

I very much do love birds :D

Rainbow Lorikeetsare good to look at and pretty entertaining to watch :P but yeah they're pretty loud and they are pains in the arse to other birds :P

Ah Crimson Rosellas are pretty cool.. I find them pretty hard to shoot cause there isn't that many arround here and they are pretty timid ;)

I'll try for you though :)

This is such a beautiful shot! o___o It's so clear and colourful.
Plus the subject is the best bird of all. :D (I am a little biased though, I currently have one jumping on my keyboard 'helping' me type, lol)

Stop your bitchin' and buy a 1.4x converter thing! =P Nah, I know your pain, darlin'. I'd love a 300 prime...:sniff:

This is a very beautiful picture, nice and sharp, as everyone has said.

My lens has issues, I don't know if it's backfocusing or if I'm just a dingbat and can't figure out the "1.5m / 3m" switch.

I miss your submissions. Damn school. :shakefist:

sooooooorry ms i spontaineously buy lenses/cameras! i cant afford a 1.4x TC :P atm i really need a new camera.. the one i have is becoming quite old.. *eyes off your 30D or the 1d mk III in the shop window*

but a 300mm prime would be rather nice ;)

yeah i cant tell if my 70-200 has a focus problem or if i'm just shit at getting stuff in focus

last few exams now, i went out shooting this arvo (first time in weeks, litterally) so expect more photos when the hollies start! i'll brave the canberra cold to get me some schnaps! :D

I haven't bought anything in like, six thousand years, thank you kindly! =P

My 30D stinks, it's got dust under the sensor from the whole two times I changed lenses with it. PFFF! :bleh: A mk III would do nicely. Very nicely. :faint:

Are you serious about your lens? If so, hooray, I'm not the only one! :w00t: I wonder what it could be? I don't really want to go through the process of having Canon look at it...it's so annoying though, I didn't think the lens would be so fussy. :shakefist:

Aww, yay for your exams being almost over! Best of luck with the rest, knock their socks off, Jez! :boogie:

i suppose so.. :P

ouch.. that rather sucks about the 30D, still it cant be as 'nearly dead' as my 350D.. it is rated for 30 thousand shots.. it is at 41thousand already :D

i need a new camera, but i dont have the money! :sniff:

thanks for the well wishes.. i'm all done now :D

Yeah, I don't know how I always get the shitty end of the stick with my gear, I look after it fine. =P Haha, whoa, your little 350D is doing great considering! It'll still be a worthy back-up body.

Hooray for the end of exams! :boogie:

hehe! poor cockatoos! They are a lot of fun I reckon and wonderful photography subjects. I know why you love bird photography - 'cos it is such a challenge, gets you outdoors, and birds are so infinitely cool and interesting and beautiful  :D You should check my mate Dave (*THEDOC4) sometimes, he does awesome bird action shots and is the nicest guy too.
